Losing Leads? The 5 Things You’re Doing Wrong.

By Lloyd Silver

Generating leads isn’t an easy thing to do. So when they start to drop off out of your funnel, you have a serious problem. Many people don’t realize that if leads go un-nurtured they will simply lose interest in your company and what you have to offer. Forgetting to care for your leads are just one part of the problem for most companies that experience large lead drop-offs. To help you ensure that your funnel has no leaks we created a detailed list of the things you’re doing that is costing you leads.

  1. You Leave Them Waiting

People hate to wait. So why would you work hard to achieve leads, but leave them hanging after you get them in your funnel? By doing so you encourage them to visit other providers of the information they are looking for. By providing them with consistent and relevant information you keep your brand fresh in their mind.

  1. Asking For Too Much

When you ask for too much too soon you deter the lead from doing business with you. By doing so you sound desperate, instead of providing the lead with information and time to make an informed partnership. By providing the lead with offers that increase in value over time you generate report with the lead.

  1. You Don’t Follow Up

By checking in with the lead, providing them the opportunity for a phone call or product/service update, you keep your brand at the top of their mind. It also shows that you care about their situation and you value their business.

  1. Provide Inconsistent Information

When providing information you need to ensure that it is both concise and constant with your goals. Always ensure that your pricing is set, along with your obligations, and your promises. When you provide incorrect or inconsistent information to a lead it makes them question your viability.

  1. Take On More Than You Can Handle

Everyone loves when their business is booming and their sales funnels are overflowing with leads. But be careful for what you wish for, because the more leads you have, harder it is to delight each. Do your best to stay in touch with each by utilizing reminders and automations to remind you and send emails automatically on your behalf.

Keeping leads is not an easy thing to do, that’s why knowing what not to do will benefit you. Always remember to provide leads with an easy way to contact you, so that when they are ready to make the purchasing decision your name is right on top.
